(Remote) New#1 Tax Role: Lead small Staff, Learn International Tax & Build Dept.

An organization with a highly reputable name in a high-growth engineering niche is in need of a qualified candidate for its newly created Corporate Tax Manager role. The company specializes in environmental projects and offers has offered tailored consulting services for its clients for decades. The company has also received numerous recognitions for its eco-friendly operations. This midsized group is comprised of a workforce of over 1000 employees and operates across two dozen locations in the US. More recently they have entered the global market and have successfully been awarded contracts on several new international projects. This company has recorded impressive revenues and has realized over $250+ million in sales while growing four-fold in the past 15 years.

The company’s progression and more recent expansion internationally coincides with it contracting with PwC for its tax planning and management services. This Top Tax role will coordinate those services while receiving guidance and training from the big 4 International firms. The Tax Manager’s role offers the option of practically 100%virtual function, and will see only 3-4 official visits annually for special meetings and relationship building to the corporate HQ. One can also opt for working on-premise at one of the company’s nearby office which are situated in many Northeast states.


The candidate shall handle federal and state tax compliances in this job position and analyze new regulations. They will oversee sales & use tax applicability, and work with the various organizational levels while mentoring subordinate staff. The manager will review annual tax provisions, facilitate the tax filings created & reviewed by PWC, ensure timely tax payments, and respond to any audit inquiries. The position will also require tax reconciliations and researching potential national and international tax impacts of proposed projects.


Their Finance team needs a graduate from a relevant Accounting/ or Tax degree curriculum, preferably possessing a CPA/ MST. 7+ years of professional work exposure in accounting; 5 yrs. with a corporate tax dept. or from the public accounting industry is necessary. Strong communication, analytical, and research skills are desirable coupled with a hands-on ability to function independently while managing new challenges.
